Dr. Natasha Vita-More
Humanity+, Chair. University of Advancing Technology, professor. Author and designer
Dr. Natasha Vita-More is an “early adapter of revolutionary changes” (Wired) and a “role model for superlongevity”. Natasha is featured in over two dozen televised documentaries and highlighted in numerous publications on emerging technology, human enhancement, and life extension.
Natasha’s writings combine emerging technologies with social narratives on human futures, what she calls “Ageless Thinking” and the “Regenerative Generation”, including the visionary and ethical outcomes of biotechnology, human-computer interfaces, and the Singularity.
She is currently a Professor at the University of Advancing Technology and has been a visiting lecturer at Stanford, Harvard, UCLA, and Aalto Universities. She keynotes global conferences, and in Moscow presented her views on a future Super Olympics, in Tokyo on the aging population of the Regenerative Generation, at GF2045 Conference at Lincoln Center, and at TEDx Limassol, TEDxMunich, and Paris at the Space Sciences Pierre-Gilles de Gennes.
Her current scientific research focuses on life extension and memory in the cryopreservation of the simple animal C. elegans nematode. In the field of design, her prototype "Primo Posthuman" (1997) whole body prosthetics unmasks the probable outcomes of a regenerative human. The iteration of this project has resulted in “Platform Diverse Body” (2012) and “Substrate Autonomous Persons” (2012), which offer insight into how technological innovation continues to enhance human physiology and diversify identity. She received Special Recognition at Women in Video, and exhibited at the US Film Festival, Filmex LA, London Contemporary Art Museum, Niet Normal, Moscow Film Festival, and GOGBOT.
Natasha is co-editor and contributing author of the Transhumanist Reader: Classical and Contemporary Essays on the Science, Technology, and Philosophy of the Future Human. Her essays have been published in the journals Nanotechnology Perceptions, Technoetic Arts, Evolution haute couture, Technology Imagination Future, Metaverse Creativity, New Realities: Being Syncretic, Beyond Darwin, AI Society and D’ARS.
