Although busy with this quest Chris still finds time to perform live regularly at such prestigious venues in Auckland such as Sky City and Eden Park and is often called upon to play at high profile events.
The song ‘I Wanna Live Forever’ was inspired by world-renowned molecular biologist Dr. Bill Andrews, an associate of Chris’s. Dr Andrews company, Sierra Sciences receives royalties not only from CLEF, but personally from Chris through sales of his song on iTunes.
‘I Wanna Live Forever’, recorded at the studio of Neil Finn from Crowded House fame, tells a story of Dr. Andrews life so far and his search for a cure for all age-related diseases and eventually immortality. It is an infectious pop song that has that signature Chris Sanders sound with melodic vocals and catchy guitars. You’ll definitely find yourself singing along to this tune while driving in the car. Greta Blackburn and Bitch Kitty'
The longevity field knows her as The Telomere Diva (www.thetelomerediva.com) and co-author of The Immortality Edge as well as LifeBalance. As the Editor of Ms. Fitness Magazine and a pioneer in the fitness field she hosted Fox Sport's Ms. Fitness USA televised pageants for years. Back in the day she appeared as a Guest Star and recurring character on TV shows and mini-series, including "V: The FInal Battle" and "Dynasty", "Three's Company", and dozens of others. Her movie roles included comedy ( "Yellowbeard") to cop blockbusters "48 Hrs" and more.
After graduating from of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, Greta Blackburn began her "original" professional working career as an actress and model. She was the Eclipse sunscreen girl in print and TV ads and she appeared in Buick Regals' "The Car You Buy By The Seat Of Your Pants" Superbowl commercial years ago. (The ad featured Blackburn's backside in a variety of tight-fitting wardrobe changes ranging from a bathing suit to evening gown to tennis outfit.
"I never really put my butt on the line, however," Blackburn explains, referencing that ad campaign as well a a famous semi-nude scene in "48 Hrs." until I started following my dream to head up a rock and roll, funk and blues band.
The idea for BK was born more than 15 years ago when Blackburn and Bitch Kitty began rehearsing at the same time as The Pussycat Dolls. "I was directing and starring in a yoga video that also featured hip hop music. One of the girls in that video was in what was the beginning of The Pussycat Dolls. I remember she and I sharing stories about the groups we were involved with- sexy dance girls who sang. She told me then that she liked the name of my group better!" The Pussycat Dolls went on to become, well, the huge hit that they are today. Blackburn shelved her project when she became involved in the world of telomere biology in its infancy, helping to launch the world's first telomerase activator.
"I figured that fun and games and dancing and singing could wait while I helped get to market products that could help us all live longer," Blackburn explains.
A few years ago Blackburn was featured in a one-act Off- Broadway show that showcased her singing. That got her musical creative juice slowing again and once again Bitch Kitty called.
"Bitch Kitty is my alter ego. She's the most fearless version of me there is," admits Blackburn.
Bitch Kitty is not only a band but an ulterior motive. "I'm creating an entirely new genre of music with this project. When we show up, we are performing music that not only entertains but enlivens, in a very real sense. I'm delving into the convergence of music and cellular mechanisms," Blackburn says.
"When the results of Greta B and Bitch Kitty's work is fully divulged," Blackburn adds, with a sly smile on her face, "Expect a telomere tangent. That's all I can say for now."
